Richard Scott –  Legislation and Policy 


Richard Scott joined the campaign team in 2017. Mr. Scott previously served as Information Technology Director for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), Digital Media Developer and STEM Instructor for the Fulton County Arts Council. In May of 2017, he began working as the Legislation and Policy Director for GA Representative, Roger Bruce. Richard is deeply invested in building lasting community power through strategic research and a deep understanding of the transformative power of organizing. Richard is a University of Central Arkansas graduate.


John L. Sanders – Executive Aide


John L. Sanders is the Executive Aide to State Representative Roger Bruce. Prior to joining politics, Mr. Sanders best utilized his extraordinary communication skills and creativity as an on-air personality for WMQG 106.5 FM. It was in 2014 when Sanders would transition from communications to providing administrative, media, research, publicity and parliamentary support for Representative Bruce. Currently residing in Douglasville, his unquestionable dedication to District 61make him a valuable asset to the campaign team. John is a Norfolk State graduate.


Trista Mills– Community Liaison


As Community Liaison, Trista Mills is tasked with remaining current on Representative Bruce’s legislative and policy agenda. Mrs. Mills has distinguished herself as an essential resource through her commitment to the community groups and constituents of district 61. Trista Mills plans and coordinates Representative Roger Bruce’s Annual Family Fun Day event along with several other events that he hosts. Additionally, Mrs. Mills advises congressman Bruce on responses to local issues gathered from district meetings, community boards and public forums. Trista is a Strayer-University graduate.


Matthew Ponder - Legislative Aide


Matthew Ponder is an Atlanta native and new addition to Congressman Bruce’s team as of July, 2018. He was first introduced to the political industry as an organizer in the 2008 cycle as he worked primarily with the Bob Tuke for U.S. Senate campaign in Nashville, TN. As chief information officer, Mr. Ponder has already begun improving the technological infrastructure needed for Representative Bruce to immediately connect with his supporters and keep them informed. Matthew attended Fisk University.
